Black, Hot Pink & White Handbag

Published by craftygreengirl at 10:47 am under crafts, green living Edit This

Floral Purse

My newest creation is this Black, white, and hot pink handbag with a snap closure.  It has 6 outside pockets and measures 10 inches wide x 8 inches high with a 4 inch gussett.

Made with 100% cotton fabric and I use upcycled ribbons for the handles.  The whole project took about an hour to complete.  I used an upcycled baby blanket for the batting, so it is a heavy duty bag, and will last a long time.  Eco-friendly and super fun to carry around!

Each and every project I make, I try to use materials of some sort that are re-used.  Why not re-use items that you might otherwise just throw away?  Old baby blankets (washed of course, :) make great batting for purses, placemats or any other project that needs a little something to make it thicker. Instead of running out and buying it, just look around your house, I bet there is something you are using anymore that can by recycled into something else.  Let me know what you recycle in your craft projects!
